Everybody LOVES… “FREE”!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

free2

It just has to be one of everyone’s favorite words. “FREE” is just about always a good thing. It occurred to us that here at Spinettis we have a few things that we happily give away for free.

bottlewater2

First there’s the ice cold bottled water that we give out each day to anyone that sees our large “FREE WATER” sign out front of our store and asks. Here in Vegas triple digit weather is the norm for about five months of the year so few things are more welcomed on a hot day in the middle of the desert than a bottle of water right out of the fridge. Our store visitors definitely seem to appreciate this gesture as they wander through our air conditioned showroom getting out of the blazing heat.

pokerplayer

Did you know that you can pick up the newest edition of Poker Player in our store? Why fight the traffic, the congestion and the inconvenience of going to the casino to get the latest copy when you can park right in front of our store, come in and get your copy for FREE. If you are out of town and still want to read their great poker publication you can always just go to their website and read the current edition there. Visit their site by Clicking Here.

crayons

If you bring your child or children into the store we’ve got a box of crayons for them, again absolutely free. If you have kids but left ‘em at home just mention it to us and we’re always happy to let you be the crayon courier.

Every month we have a free drawing for a Spinettis gift certificate from the business cards that were dropped into our bucket on the counter. When you are here be sure to leave your card and you could very well be next month’s winner.

email1

How about our free email newsletters… are you signed up? You’ll get notification when we make a new blog post but you’ll also get the occasional specials and discount codes that we make available to only our valued ezine subscribers. There’s no charge and if you get sick of hearing from us you can always un-subscribe with a simple click of your mouse. You can sign up on the left hand side of our website home page by Clicking Here.

So speaking of specials and free things we’ve got the following deals for our in-store customers who mention that they saw these on our blog during the month of October.

freestuff2

That’s right just mention you read it in our blog and we will give you absolutely free your choice of either a dealer button or a poker guide booklet. No purchase is necessary but you do have to mention our blog.

freestuff1

Now if you do make at least a $50 purchase here in the store and mention our blog we’ve got a travel cribbage game for you. Spend $100 or more and we’ll give you a 200-chip carousel to take with you, complete with chips. Absolutely free with your purchase when you say you saw it on our blog.

Lastly and this could very well be the most valuable freebie we give out.. free advice. Whether you are looking for chips, a new poker table, casino collectibles or just about anything else we are always happy to share our knowledge, gaming experience and expertise with you.

Just a few more reason to make Spinettis Gaming Supply your first choice when looking for your home gaming needs.

logoebay

Well it’s Friday… and that means it’s time to tell you about this weekend’s eBay auctions that end on Sunday. As always, there’s never a reserve and we start our auctions low to let the bidders determine what the chip eventually sells for.

Take a look at some of this week’s auctions that end on Sunday starting at 5 PM Pacific time. Just click on one of the six chips below to go directly to that auction or Click Here to see all 45 auctions that are presently running.

Don’t forget our chip stacking contest. Click Here for details and send us your best pic. You could be our big winner!

We hope everyone has a great weekend.

Yes we sell… but we also BUY!

we_buy

Rarely a day goes by where someone doesn’t come into our store looking to sell us something. We normally pass on all things non-gaming related but as a rule we just about always make an offer on casino collectibles. Whether they be chips, silver strikes, casino photos, ashtrays, decanters, porcelain, casino menus, showroom programs, matchbooks, swizzle sticks, signage, dice, cards, tables, roulette wheels… you name it. If it has a casino name or came from a casino we could very well be interested and make you an offer.

The only casino collectibles that we usually pass on are limited edition casino chips and slot tokens since we already have a rather extensive inventory of these items (and the number of collectors that want them are few).

Just bring what you’ve got into our Las Vegas store and let us make you an offer. If you are not in Las Vegas and have something you think we might be interested in give us a call or email us a photo. Turn that dust-gathering-casino-stuff cluttering up your home into cold hard cash.

So we negotiate when we buy but sometimes we even negotiate when we sell…

Did you know that we take your offers into consideration on our casino collectibles? Reasonable offers are often accepted even if it’s below our marked price or book value. Let’s try this one for instance…

This MGM-Marina chip is from 1990 and is rated as a “Z4″ in The Chip Rack, 11th edition.

mgm-marina

A “Z4″ chip is valued at $2,100 - $3,099. So what would you offer for this very rare and hard to find chip to be in your collection? Just give us a call at 702-362-8767 or email us here with your best offer and we will definitely take it into consideration.

So there you have it… here at Spinettis Gaming we sell, we buy and most importantly we’re negotiable when it comes to casino collectibles.

This Week’s Auctions!

Friday, September 18th, 2009

logoebay

If you are looking for a great deal on collectible chips we urge you to take a look at this week’s eBay auctions. This week we have 35 different lots available. Each and every week most of the chips end up selling for well below book value. In this “challenging economy” many collectors have cut way back on their chip purchases. But their reluctance to buy could be great news for you if you’re looking to add a chip or two to your collection. When things do turn around (as they surely will) you very well could look back and say… “Thank goodness in mid-September ‘09 I bid on and won a chip that has tremendously escalated in value over what I paid for it!”.

You can either click on one of the chips below to go right to that particular auction or just Click Here to see all 35.

1463 1458 1466g
1467g 1468 1478

So take a look, place your best bid and be the winner of a great new piece for your collection.

There’s ONLY 12 days left to submit your best chip stacking photo. Get all the details HERE!

Thanks for reading our blog and have yourself a great weekend!!

Party Time at Spinettis…

cookout1

One of the reasons that Spinettis Gaming is a great place to work is that everyone here gets along really well. This is why we often have “after-hours” get togethers and every now and then even shut the doors so we can go have some fun.

Such was the case Sunday when we closed our storefront for our annual cookout/swim party and met over at Rosanne and Juston’s home.

As a Spinettis customer we consider you part of our extended family and feel you should share in the fun too so here’s some pics from the day:

So besides the fun conversation, swimming and table tennis there were definitely a couple more highlights: the food (thanks Aunt Joan and Juston for cooking!) and the Bocce tournament.

bocce1

Four two-person teams entered the 1st Annual Spinettis Employee Bocce Championship. It was a single elimination tournament with the winner of each of the first two games playing for the title in game #3. After being down 0-4 early on, the incredibly talented, skillful and deadly accurate partnership of Dave and Mikko came back with a 7-5 win barely edging out Doug and Manuel claiming this years bragging rights.

smore

We ended the evening roasting marshmallows in the fire-pit and even introduced a few to their very first s’more. All in all, I think most of us here at Spinettis Gaming Supply feel fortunate to get to come to work each day at a place with so many fun, interesting & nice people. One thing for sure… all of us are definitely looking forward to next year’s end-of-summer cookout.

Your TGIF Auction Notification Post

Friday, September 11th, 2009

It’s Friday… and that can only mean one thing. Time to tell you about our weekly eBay auctions that are ending Sunday evening.

Speaking of Sunday… all of us here at Spinettis will be at our annual family barbeque/picnic. We’re closing the store, Juston will be putting on his chef’s hat, the kids will be splashing & playing in the swimming pool and Henry & Boto will be schooling us on the finer points of table tennis. We’ll be sure to take some pics and post them next week so you can experience some of the fun we’re bound to have had.

OK, where was I? That’s right… AUCTIONS!

We’ve got some good ones this week and many right now have bids way below their book values. Seems that just about every week some lucky bidder gets a smokin’ great deal. Shouldn’t that be you this week? Take a look at all or our auctions by CLICKING HERE or just click on one of the four chips below to go right to that particular auction.

1432 1444
1447 1439

So remember, take a look at our closing auctions on Sunday but don’t bother coming to our store that day. There won’t be anyone here to help you. Provided enough of us have recovered from the party we will resume normal business hours on Monday the 14th at 9 AM.

One last thing… don’t forget about our contest that is running right now. Send us your best chip stacking photo by September 30th and you could be the big winner. CLICK HERE for more details.

Have a GREAT weekend from your friends at Spinettis!

Here at Spinettis, we think green!

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

green1thb

Bet you didn’t know this but here at Spinettis we make a conscious effort to have a green business and to continually reduce our energy and resource footprint. They say that thinking green is all about the four R’s: reducing, reusing, recycling and recovering.

Over the past few years we have dramatically reduced the amount of energy we use. From keeping lights off and turning off the air conditioning each night to replacing our light bulbs with energy saving ones, we’ve done it all.

bulb

We reuse boxes and paper. When you open a box from Spinettis you won’t find landfill clogging packing peanuts, instead you will see reused shredded paper packaging. You might even receive your products in a reused box.

recycle1

We also recycle everything we can. We have a recycle bin in our employee break room for cans. Out in the warehouse we recycle boxes, paper and plastic. In our store we have a place for water bottles and paper.

So what’s this mean for you? Probably most important to you are lower costs with our products and shipping/handling. But in the bigger picture know that we are doing our part to make this world we all live in a better place. Many of the employees here have children and all of us care that they inherit a safe, clean environment. Being green is a worthwhile effort that Spinettis Gaming Supply believes in and supports.

Auctions ending Sunday!

logoebay

We’ve got some collectible chips up on eBay this week including these Little Caesars chips:

1422 1423 1424

Little Caesars was open from 1970 till it closed in 1994 when it’s owner passed away. It was located as a storefront in a strip mall. It had no hotel, swimming pool, showroom or even restaurant (they did have a sandwich counter though). It was located where the present day Paris Hotel sits, next to Bally’s and across the street from the then Dunes Hotel (now the Bellagio).

By all accounts, Little Caesars was a “dive” in the truest sense. They had a 25¢ crap game and $1 blackjack, one of the only strip casinos left to offer these low limits. When you requested cocktails you were brought a draft beer in a paper cup. The cocktail “waitress” was also the cage cashier. Bowls of cigarettes were on each table. The bosses were down right brutal to their break-in employees yelling, threatening and belittling them at every opportunity. It wasn’t uncommon for fist fights to break out on an almost nightly basis.

They were known for their sports book though. They accepted very large bets and many a professional sports betters were proud to call this place their home. They even booked a $1,000,000 bet from Vegas World casino owner Bob Stupak on the 1989 Superbowl between the Bengals and the Forty-niners. Stupak won his Cincinnati bet and this little joint probably got several million dollars worth of publicity from it.

It was definitely a classic… and here’s your chance to get a piece of Las Vegas history from this legendary little casino. Just click on one of the images above to go right to that auction or Click Here to see all of this week’s 30 auctions ending on Sunday.

Time for a CONTEST!!

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

OK, so I got an email this week titled “things to do with casino chips when you are really bored”. It contained pics of chip sculptures. Pics like these:

chip_sculpt1

chip_sculpt2

chip_sculpt3

My first thought was “these people have way too much time on their hands”. But then I started looking further and found that there are chip stacking contests and lots of You Tube videos on chip towers. Check this video out for instance that uses 1,200 chips:

It’s obvious that there are chip owners out there that are into creating works of art with their chips and not just using them on the tables. So….

We decided to have our own “2009 Spinettis Chip Stacking Tower Contest”. So get out your chips, build a sculpture, take a photo and mail it to us here by September 30th. At that time we’ll review the entries and award the best chip tower photo a $20 gift certificate (to be used toward any product(s) we offer, shipping excluded) for the best sculpture.

We employees are even going to get into the game and see what we come up with (of course we’re not eligible to win the gift certificate) but you might enjoy seeing our creativity (or lack thereof…).

We’ll post some of the entry photos as well as the winner and our employee creations in the Wednesday, October 7th blog so keep your eyes out for it.

If you need some good stacking chips consider our Desert Palace 11.5 gram composite chips. At just 15¢/each they represent a great value and they’ll not only build an awesome tower but they’ll be great to use in your poker game as well.

So what are you waiting for? Get to building and send us your best photo!
